A four-pronged executive coaching model.
Breakthrough University (BU) is a four-pronged executive coaching model. containing the following “BU and Thrive” modules
Module 1: Building the Coaching Foundation.
Module 2: Seeing Your Leadership Superpowers
Module 3: Exploring Self-Sabotaging Behaviors
Module 4: Strategic Execution of A Meaningful, High Leverage Goal
Throughout this iterative process, the executive coach serves as the strategic thinking partner, accountability partner, co-planner and critical friend.
In Module 1, we focus on creating the foundation for a strong coaching partnership. For our coaching model to thrive, the coaching partnership is intentionally grounded in mutual respect, transparency, accountability and measurable growth. In Module 1, activities are designed to build the relational capital and mutual agreements that allow the coaching experience to exceed expectations.
In Module 2, we focus on helping the client gain a clear picture of his/her highest leverage leadership strengths. The client participates in a series of self assessments and values clarification activities that help the client best leverage his/her strengths in work add/or personal settings. By seeking specific feedback from colleagues and friends, the client gains a clearer picture of the ways his/her leadership strengths “show up” – both during times of relative calm/balance and during times of stress/imbalance.
By participating in a broad range of reflections and “action research” activities, the client unearths some of the self-imposed barriers that may stand in the way of self-actualization. Most importantly, in Module 4, the client develops strategies to overcome those unintentional, self-sabotaging behaviors.
After participating in a range of activities designed to help the client process and deeply reflect on the Breakthrough University journey, he/she/they will develop a Transformative Growth Plan (TGP). This plan will be informed by the client’s strengths, short term priorities (professional and/or personal) and the self-self sabotaging behaviors that limit success.
